Chris Soap brings a common sense approach to problem solving. He
serves his community in the same way he was taught by his parents
Charlie Soap who lives in Rocky Mountain, Oklahoma and Lyn
Whittington of Muskogee: using teamwork, selfreliance, trust,
forgiveness, and faith in personal relationships to improve people’s
lives. Chris worked his way up from an entry level position to Plant
Manager for a manufacturing facility located in the Mid-America
Industrial Park in Mayes County. He has a degree in Biology from NSU
and lives in Pryor with his wife of 14 years, Sylvia, and their son Corey.
Chris has demonstrated his leadership skills with the JOM programs
in the Osage and Pryor public school districts and currently serves as
Secretary/Treasurer of the Grand Lakes Manufacturing Council. Chris
Soap’s priorities as a Tribal Council member will be Education, Health
Care, and Economic Development opportunities within the Cherokee
Nation.
